Cardiff Bay 10/06/11

Another session at Cardiff Bay as the weather and sea state was too bad for the coast.
We once again launched at Channel View Pontoon with a plan of circling the bay then heading up the river Ely.

Even though we are only in the bay I still want to load the kayak up with the kit that we would carry on a coastal journey so I can get used to it being there etc

On our way round we tried to practice some of the edging skills that Taran had shown us.

Another really good paddle and we were out for over 3 hours in sun and rain. The Bay is a great practice ground and hopefully we are getting enough paddle time to be used to 3-4 hours in the boat. Now really need to start practicing / learning rescues and self rescues. Taran has suggested going to Glam Boaters and we are going to start from July onwards. Hopefully we can get out on some more adventurous paddles.
